Churches:
The community is served by six churches: St. Edwards Catholic Church; Grace Lutheran (ELCA); 1st Baptist Church; Henning Methodist Church; St. Paul’s Lutheran (Missouri Synod); and Good Shepherd Lutheran (ELCA)
Chamber:
The Henning Chamber of Commerce has been organized since the early 1930’s and acts as a community development and business organization. The Chamber has been sponsoring a summer festival every year since 1949 with carnival rides, parades, demo derby, fireworks and many fun activities. The Chamber is also a supporter of the Phelps Mill Festival. The Chamber has been the sponsor of a World Famous Turkey BarBQue day that has been held annually since the late 1960’s.
City Government:
The City of Henning not only provides public services to its residents, but it also operates its own electric utility and natural gas utilities. The City provides police protection, fire and BLS Ambulance Service and has been active in housing development by constructing and operating apartments, a Senior Housing/Assisted Living facility and developing residential lots for low income housing development.

Day Care:
Three individuals provide licensed day care service in their homes within the City limits and others just a few miles out of town.
Medical Facilities:
Tri-County Hospital owns and operates a medical clinic in Henning staffed with 2 resident doctors and 2 PA’s. Dr. Mike Berglund operates a full service dental office. Lake County Eye Clinic provides eye care. Henning Chiropractic Clinic is staffed by Dr. Mike Mortenson, a licensed chiropractor, and also provides a massage therapy service.
Recreation & Leisure:
Henning is located in Otter Tail County which is the home to over 1000 lakes. The summers provide many lake related activities, such as fishing, swimming, boating…the list goes on and on! Henning is also a popular destination for hunting both duck and deer. The local Rod & Gun club maintains a top quality firing range. Henning also is home to a 9 hole golf course, an 8 lane bowling alley and several parks.
Schools:
Henning High School is a K-12 facility that offers an excellent education program including college English for its Senior students that are planning to attend college. Extra curricular activities include Speech, Drama, Band, Choir, BPA, Football (honors include Section 6 Champions and State Runner-up) volleyball, wrestling, basketball, baseball, track, softball, golf and cheerleading.

City Government:
Office Located at 239 State Hwy 78, Ottertail. Council meetings are held the First Thursday of every month at 7:00am, and the Third Thursday of every month at 7:30pm.

Recreation & Leisure:
Ottertail City is located in Otter Tail County which is home to over 1000 lakes. Recreation Water Activities include fishing, boating, swimming, and many more! Ottertail is also home to Thumper Pond Golf Course and Event Center which includes a full service restaurant, hotel, event center and waterpark, Balmoral Golf Course, Balmoral North (PAR 3), Rush Lake Mini Golf. Snowmobiling, Cross County Skiing and Walking Trails are all located within city limits.
Schools:
Perham, Henning and New York Mills School Districts are divided within the city limits. Open enrollment is allowed in other school districts as well.

Battle Lake City Hall is located at 108 East Main, Battle Lake, MN.

Battle Lake is also home to many organizations and clubs for example: Lions, Women of Today, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, FFA, 4-H, Battle Lake Food Shelf, Men’s Fellowship at 1st Lutheran, and Knights of Columbus at Our Lady of the Lake.

The city of Battle Lake currently has three individual licensed daycares within the city limits.
Medical Facilities:
Fergus Falls Medical Group owns the Battle Lake Medical Clinic, which is run by Dr. Daniel Lembke and his staff. Dr. Todd Smith owns and operates Area Lakes Dental. The Battle Lake Chiropractic Clinic is owned and operated by Dr. Scott Ellingson, a licensed chiropractor. Along with these, Battle Lake also offers many massage therapy services.
Recreation & Leisure:
Located on West Battle Lake, the city offers many outdoor recreational activities which include swimming, boating, and fishing. The Battle Lake area has a vast amount of beautiful resorts on many of our area lakes. The city also offers wonderful snowmobiling trails and great ice fishing locations for those winter enthusiasts. To get out and enjoy the scenery, Glendalough State park is located just minutes from town. Battle Lake also has mini golf, bowling, and several dining establishments. The area is greatly populated with wildlife for those avid hunters and bird watchers.
